The purpose of the Josef Dobrovsky Fellowship is to support Czech studies in their linguistic and territorial dimension by funding short-term study stays of foreign researchers at the institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (CAS).
The grant is intended for foreign researchers who, for their scientific work, need to study local historical, cultural, artistic, linguistic, geographical or natural data in the Czech Republic. The study stay lasts from 15 to 45 days.
Applications for the Josef Dobrovsky Fellowship are submitted by applicants through individual institutes of the CAS. The Academic Council of the CAS decides on the award of support based on the results of a two-stage selection procedure (the first round takes place at institute level, the second round at the level of the entire CAS).
Applications for the Josef Dobrovsky Fellowship to support stays planned from March 2023 are open until 16 December 2022.
Applications for the Josef Dobrovsky Fellowship should be accompanied by a CV and a proposal for a scientific project in Czech or English. The Institute of Czech Literature will not accept incomplete applications.
The Institute invites those interested in this form of study stay to consult the topic of their project and other details of the application well in advance with the Institute’s Deputy Director for International Cooperation, Mag. Dr. Michael Wögerbauer, zamini@ucl.cas.cz. Preferably, the topic is related to current projects and interests of one of the departments of the Institute.
