Announcements for joint doctoral programme application process are published on individual faculty websites.
The contact person for postgraduate studies at the ICL is doc. PhDr. Ondřej Sládek, Ph.D. If you are interested in being considered for ICL training, we ask that you contact Mr. Sládek sufficiently in advance at sladek@ucl.cas.cz.
In their applications, applicants should indicate that they are applying to take part in ICL training.
Doctoral students admitted to study in the above fields, as well as applicants accepted into the ICL training programme will be attached to individual ICL research departments, and will help to carry out various grant and other research projects. It is generally assumed that the topic of their dissertation work is relevant to these projects, and to the focus of the research departments at the institute to which they are attached. Participation in ICL lecture and seminar cycles organised by the department (i.e. various programmes of the Literary Science Forum) fulfils the doctoral requirement of professional scholarly activity.
Doctoral student activities are generally guided by a set of internal regulations concerning these activities. Doctoral students in university study programmes also work in various positions connected with research and infrastructure departments at the ICL. In addition to the internal regulations mentioned above, the rights and duties of doctoral students at the ICL are covered by their inclusion in ICL department activities, documentation of individual projects, instructions by supervisors, and agreement between the ICL and relevant faculty.
At least once per year, doctoral students working at the ICL are required to present the progress of their doctoral theses at one of the doctoral reviews:
